Information we collect
We collect information you provide in account applications, orders and support correspondence: names, contact details, organization and research-use information, attestations, billing and shipping addresses, order and lot references, delivery instructions, and documents or photographs you choose to send.
Account and transaction records may include email-verification and sign-in activity, review decisions, policy acknowledgments, invoices, payment references and status, shipment records, and fraud-prevention or audit records. Hosting and security services may process Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser or device information, request details and timestamps. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card or bank-account numbers, government identification, or personal medical information in ordinary support email.
How we use information
We use information to operate and secure the website, assess account and research-use eligibility, fulfill accepted orders, coordinate payment and delivery, answer questions, investigate quality or shipment concerns, maintain traceability, prevent abuse, and meet legal, accounting and recordkeeping obligations. Optional marketing updates are separate from necessary account, security, transaction and support messages.
Payment, shipping and other service providers
We disclose information needed for the service or transaction to providers supporting hosting, storage, email, account security, address validation, payments, tax calculation and shipping. These include Cloudflare; Stripe for card checkout and tax services when used; Mercury for invoice or bank-payment coordination when used; the banks and Zelle services involved in a chosen bank payment; and FedEx or the carrier handling a shipment. The provider involved depends on the feature or payment method used.
Card details entered in Stripe checkout are handled by Stripe; our order system receives payment references and status rather than full card numbers. Payment, banking and carrier services also handle information under their own privacy notices. We may disclose records when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, protect rights, or resolve a dispute.
Cookies and browser storage
A secure age-confirmation cookie remembers your 21+ attestation for 24 hours. A separate customer-session cookie can keep you signed in for up to seven days, unless the session expires or is revoked sooner. Sign-in links are time-limited and single-use. Security and abuse-prevention services may also use necessary browser information or cookies.
The cart uses browser storage to remember product selections. Research Library checklist notes stay in the page for your use or printing and are not sent to our article counters. Choosing an external research search sends the query to the selected search provider, whose own privacy notice applies. You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings, which may remove your cart and require a new sign-in or age confirmation.
Optional advertising measurement
Meta Pixel measures visits to our homepage automatically for visitors located in the United States, unless you turn measurement off or your browser sends a privacy opt-out signal. Elsewhere, or if location cannot be determined, it stays off until you allow it. Meta receives browser and device information, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, page and referring addresses, and advertising identifiers, and may use cookies or associate activity with your Meta account for advertising measurement and personalization. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
For United States visitors, the homepage pixel can load without an acceptance step. We use the country supplied by our hosting provider for the current request, not your shipping address or advertising campaign targeting. Meta's JavaScript is not installed on product, report, Research Library, account, cart, payment, order or administration pages. Automatic advanced matching is off. The homepage measurement is skipped for unrecognized query parameters, page fragments or potentially private referring addresses.
When you view a recently paid order, we may send a Purchase event using an image-only browser pixel after our server verifies the payment. This shares the total including shipping, tax and discounts, currency, a random event identifier and existing Meta browser or ad-click cookie identifiers. Meta also receives your Internet Protocol (IP) address and browser request information and may receive its own cookies according to your browser settings. The request uses a payment-page address with the private order reference removed and suppresses the referring address. We do not include your name, email, telephone number, address, card or bank details, private order link, product names, lot numbers, laboratory reports or order notes. The same privacy choices and browser opt-out signals apply. Without an existing Meta measurement cookie, we skip the purchase event.
Use Privacy choices at the bottom of the homepage or this page to turn measurement off or on. An explicit acceptance lasts up to 180 days in this browser. A saved opt-out remains effective until you change it or clear site storage. Turning it off stops future measurement and clears Meta measurement cookies accessible to this site; it does not retract information already sent to Meta or clear cookies owned by Meta. Closing a notice or clicking elsewhere does not record acceptance or change your measurement choice. Browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep this measurement off even if you previously turned it on. Optional email marketing is a separate choice.
Google advertising measurement
Google measurement is a separate, optional choice. It is on by default for visitors located in the United States. Elsewhere, or when location cannot be determined, it stays off until you select Allow measurement on the homepage or this page. Explicit acceptance lasts up to 180 days in this browser; a saved opt-out stays effective until you change it or clear site storage. Closing an informational notice does not record acceptance. Privacy choices remains available without an account. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep it off. You can turn it off at any time using the Google measurement controls; this stops future measurement and clears Google advertising cookies accessible to this site, but does not retract information already sent or clear cookies on Google's domains.
If allowed, Google's tag can store and read advertising cookies and receive your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser information, public homepage address and ad-click identifiers to attribute verified purchases to ads. Google measurement code runs only on the public homepage and a separate payment-confirmation page without order references or customer details. It does not run on product, account, cart, private payment or administration pages. We disable personalized advertising and enhanced conversions and enable restricted data processing. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information.
After payment verification, browsers with measurement enabled may be directed to that separate confirmation page. Purchase measurement includes discounted merchandise and shipping collected, excluding sales tax, the currency and a random transaction identifier used to avoid duplicate counting. We do not include names, contact details, product names, laboratory reports, private payment links or order notes. A short-lived, secure cookie transfers the confirmation within our site; it is not readable by Google's script. Browser restrictions, declined measurement or not returning after payment can prevent attribution. Declining does not affect your account, payment or order.
Research Library activity
Across our Research Library articles, we count article views, clicks to other articles and use of available research tools to improve our educational content. We retain daily totals by article and activity for up to 400 days. These counters use no analytics cookies and store no visitor identifiers, entered search terms, or checklist notes. We honor browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for these counters. Separate hosting and abuse-prevention logs may contain technical request information.
How long information is retained
Retention depends on the record and its purpose. Account, research-use, order, payment, shipment, lot-traceability and support records may remain after an account closes when needed for legal or accounting obligations, quality investigations, disputes or fraud prevention. Session and sign-in-link expiry ends access; it does not by itself delete related account or audit records. The 400-day period above applies to article counters, not to all customer information. Contact us for a retention or deletion request concerning your records.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can decline optional marketing updates or ask customer service to stop them. Necessary service messages may still be sent. To request access, correction, deletion or account closure, or exercise another privacy right available under applicable law, use Privacy requests or our contact details above. We may verify your identity and authority before disclosing or changing records. We will explain any applicable exception or retention requirement and respond within the time required by applicable law.
Policy changes
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it or obtain it.
